Business Jet MCC Response and Seamless Coordination for Throttle Issue

Situation

A business jet crew contacted our MCC identifying an engine throttle issue. The aircraft, with automatic throttle capability was causing an overtemp in flight, MCC were actioned immediately and co-ordinated with the Gama Engineering team. The aircraft landed without incident and within 24hrs an engineer was in attendance.

Solution

Once diagnosed, and upon discussions with MCC, the defect was found to have relief within the MEL. The engineer was able to disconnect the automatic throttle system – ensuring all correct placards and procedures were adhered to correctly. The engineering release was sent to MCC for review and acceptance.  All done without impact to the clients flying schedule, and allowing them to continue to fly.

Results

Whilst the aircraft was operating (without the automatic throttle) replacement parts were placed on order. When these arrived, the MCC team liased with the client account manager and engineering to find a mutually beneficial time for replacement. When known and organised, the parts were replaced and the defect fixed, and closed.

This situation just shows that having MCC as a nerve centre to your operation can save time and confusion.
